§ 00Dispatch · Anchorage AK

Sealedbefore thefirst frost.

A subarctic roof is a generational asset. We tear, deck, seam, and seal the way the old sourdoughs kept a starter alive: by refusing to let the dark season win. Anchorage and the Mat-Su, every shingle and standing seam.

§ 03The starter · who we are
Roofing crew on a pitched Anchorage roof at golden hour.
FOREMAN · MAR 202661° N

Sourdough was never about bread. It was the word for someone who had overwintered. The original sourdoughs were prospectors who carried a fermented starter under their shirts so the culture survived 40-below nights. A sourdough was someone the dark season could not kill.

A roof in Anchorage is the same problem. Build it to overwinter or do not build it. Three feet of wet snow, ice-dam hydraulics, ninety-mile Knik gusts off the Inlet, a freeze-thaw cycle that takes a fastener apart screw by screw.

We have wintered every roof we have shipped since we put the truck on the road. Same foreman. Same starter, kept alive, fed every season. That is the only credential that matters north of sixty.

Quotes are honest, materials are at cost, scope creep gets killed at the kitchen table. If we cannot do it before frost, we will tell you straight and stake the next year.
